Produced in the U.S., Grant Creative beds are crafted by a team of skilled artisans. Each detail requires the expertise of a specialized craftsman. Because our process, at every level, is hands-on, each bed is a unique creation and a collaboration between Pittsburgh designers, Jeff & Cindy Grant. Whether vintage inspired or contemporary, our goal is to create classically styled designs that will stand the test of time.
CONSTRUCTION/FINISH
The beds are all constructed with steel and finished in a durable powder coat. Powder coating is a process by which the color (epoxy powder) is chemically adhered during a heat process, resulting in a high-quality finish (resistant to diminished coating quality as a result of impact, moisture, chemicals and ultraviolet light). Also, part of the construction includes solid steel milled accent pieces, designed to support the bottom of each the four posts, as well as to cradle and highlight the finials. Each goes through a technical finishing process resulting in a brass, chrome or gunmetal finish.
RECYCLED STEEL CASTINGS
The reproduction styles use ornamental cast iron pieces. These vintage inspired designs were made by combining components of several antique beds. From the deconstructed originals, we created molds & painstakingly reproduced the castings (proudly made from recycled steel from old engine blocks), then incorporated them into new, stunning designs.
FRAME SYSTEM
Our frame system is uniquely engineered to be sturdy, visually appealing and practical. The brilliant frame design is superior in rigidity and strength. Aesthetically pleasing, all components are in a coordinating finish and there are no visible screws. We have eliminated the need for a fifth foot. Instead, we use a T-bar that provides support to the center of the mattress, but allows unlimited access to the space under the bed. Each bed comes complete with headboard, footboard and frame (this includes the side rails, slats, center T-bar and hardware).
GEMSTONE FINIALS
A very special part of our beds is the finial. Each of the four posts is topped with a large, quality genuine gemstone, mined from various corners of the globe. Since each finial is naturally occurring, precision in size, shape & color/pattern is rare. This presents the unique challenge of searching out groupings of four complimentary stones to adorn each bed.
